Jerry and Rita Guin:

We lived for many years in a small town in North Caddo Parish where you virtually know everyone. Willow Lake is like that small community where you can go for a walk and visit your neighbors along the way. You share their joys and help solve their problems as well.

Soon after one of our residents moved to Willow Lake, we discovered that as he took his early morning walk, our newspapers also began to appear at our front doors. He was putting them there so his neighbors did not have to get out and retrieve them in bad weather. We all rewarded him with new walking shoes.

We made the move to Willow Lake during the early stages of its development. We did so after talking to David and Renee Hall, the developers, and Roger Griffin, the builder. They were people whom we felt we could trust, and still do.

We have yet to feel insecure at Willow Lake with the gate entrance and the strategically located lighting. Bossier Parish Deputies patrol here at night and emergency facilities are only minutes away if needed.

Hubert and Mary Varnell:

There came a time in my life that I knew, of a certainty, that I must make a move that would offer the best possible conveniences for seniors. I reviewed a Willow Lake advertisement that listed as standard amenities, a ramp, pull-out shelves, wider doorways, tall toilets and seated showers. Also, the front yards would be maintained.

After settling on a marvelous house plan, I experienced a wonderful peace of mind. This was a place where I would feel safe and could live with neighbors who have similar interests.

This fall of 2004, I had a complete knee replacement. Because my house was so well equipped for my situation, it was very convenient to use a walker to help with my recovery.

Now because of my beautiful home and wonderful, helpful neighbors, my senior years have certainly turned golden!

Dale and Lee Phillips:

We decided to move from Shreveport to Bossier City in 2003. We watched Willow Lake develop from the very beginning, and chose Willow Lake due to its secure location and peaceful surroundings.

We have enjoyed our home, the beautiful sunsets, and getting to know our neighbors.

Ted and Betty Youngblood:

Willow Lake has a peaceful, quiet country atmosphere, and is still in close proximity to shopping facilities. The homes are beautiful with attractive landscaping.

The staff members and homeowners at Willow Lake are very cordial and welcoming – always taking time and care to converse, answer questions, offer assistance or advice.

When we were searching for locations, we found only one place that met all of our needs and desires – Willow Lake. We just wish we had made the decision earlier so that we could have enjoyed our new home and the location much sooner.

We appreciate living in this gated community that offers homes for active adults who might have future needs for the universal design features.

These individual homes provide privacy in a very congenial community.

We like the fact that lawn maintenance is provided and that we can still participate in caring for a lawn if we want.

The friendliness of the community is what I enjoy. I think of my neighbors as extended family and feel very secure and safe in my home.

I only wish I would have moved to Willow Lake before I lost my husband. He would have enjoyed it here, and it would have been easier for me if he had been here to help me make the move.
